By the methods of microprobe Auger-electron spectroscopy, X-ray energy dispersive microanalysis, scanning electron and optical microscopy, the conjugate microregions of friction surfaces between bronze and steel are investigated. The latter are obtained near and in the conditions of the known effect of the ‘selective transfer’ of elements in the friction contact zone. New data about the creation mechanism and properties of the surface ‘protective lubricating film’ on the bronze are obtained.
Keywords: bronze, steel, friction, carbide, hydrogen saturation.
