Considered the idea of the interaction of intensive impulsive streams of light energy with the surface of substance including with destruction of surface. A task consists in prognostication of critical parameters of influence of laser radiation on property of solid materials materials (modification of surface, drown, evaporation, welding, cutting and other) that work in a wide range, from low energy and protracted to high energy and short, radiation action.

Keywords: low-energy and high-energy, impulses of femtosecond duration, nanosecond impulse, craters.
