The review of articles is performed, in which the influences of mechanical characteristics, chemical composition, microstructure parameters on the wear resistance of steels are discussed. As shown, the physical-metallurgy approach for tribology problems is one of the main ways to the considerable increasing of performance characteristics of sliding joints.
Keywords: steel, mechanical characteristics, chemical composition, microstructure, wear resistance.
